The great airplanes, wonderful flying sites, and wild videos of Hand Launch Aerobatics would not exist, and are therefore meaningless, without PEOPLE making it happen. What sets HLAerobatics aside from many other types of model flying, from many other air sports, and aside from many forms of art, is the dynamic spontaneity brought to this activity by the imagination and emotion of the PEOPLE involved. HLAerobatics is both a science and an art. As a science, HLA is often advanced by those people with strong reasoning and conceptual skills, as well as strong applied or practical skills. As an art, HLA is a performance art, a precision dance, an ad-lib free-for-all, and a blend of man, machine, and the wind, sometimes peaceful and sometimes quite furious. The PEOPLE that approach HLAerobatics from these many angles deserve all of the recognition for all that is presented in this web site.
