AwayCam
When shooting video of HLAerobatics and Small Site flying, think about the lighting and the camera positon. A fixed camera position with a wide angle lens will capture lots of space without anyone working the camera, but any action not right on top of the camera will show up as a tiny spec. A low light angle or elevation with direct sunlight, such as moring or evening, and the camera looking away from the light toward the middle of the flying site, are ideal. The shadow of the moving model cast on the edges of the site will help to portray the space of the site. A close camera pass is always nice to watch, but keep in mind the cost of the camera vs. the value of the shot. Always secure and protect your camera with a solid mount and a strong shield of some kind.
